The Kid Laroi’s career began with his debut mixtape, F*ck Love, in 2020, and grew with a deluxe version, F*ck Love Deluxe (Savage). Thanks to a second and third reissue dubbed F*ck Love 3: Over You and F*ck Love 3+: Over You, he eventually hits No. 1 on the Billboard list more than a year after the first release.
With 85,000 units sold for the chart dated August 7, the Australian act’s latest reached the top of the charts. 82,000 streaming equivalent album units and 2,000 pure album sales make up this total. F*ck Love 3: Over You was released on July 23, with seven new songs and guest appearances from Polo G, Stunna 4 Vegas, Justin Bieber, G Herbo, Lil Durk, and Mustard. He returned four days later with F*ck Love 3+: Over You, which added six new tracks to bring the total to 35 songs and an hour and 18 minutes of music. The two reissues together helped propel the album to the top of the charts.
Since the Frozen II soundtrack debuted at No. 1 in 2019, F*ck Love is the only album to debut at No. 1 without having previously debuted at No. 1. It’s also the first album to debut at No. 1 more than a year after its release, since Prince’s The Very Best Of Prince, released in 2001, recovered the top spot in 2016. The soundtrack to O Brother, Where Art Thou? was the last album to debut at the top of the album chart more than a year after its release. It reached No. 1 63 weeks after the idea was first shown in early 2001.
