Ariana Grande Will Be The Latest Star To Host A Concert In ‘Fortnite’

As we continue to progress into the digital age, we’re seeing celebrities all over the world get more inventive in attracting admirers, particularly in the music industry. Previously, the only way to see your favorite artists was to attend a concert, a music festival, or a meet & greet of some sort. Some of these similar events are now reaching a bigger audience thanks to the interconnectedness of online platforms, particularly gaming.

Fortnite is one of the more unusual ways we’ve seen this happen. The battle royale is best recognized for all of the dancing movements it has spawned, but it has also featured a number of celebrity crossovers, including Travis Scott and LeBron James.
Ariana Grande will join the growing list of celebrities that have appeared in Fortnite. The former child actor turned pop singer will perform virtual concerts for everyone who attends the in-game events as part of Fortnite’s “Rift Tour.” Because it’s Fortnite, there will be objectives to accomplish and Ariana Grande-themed items to gather along the Rift Tour.

A Cuddly Cloudcruiser umbrella, which players will be able to glide in with after dropping, is one of the goods that players can acquire while playing Fortnite during this event. The festival will begin on Friday, August 6 and go through the weekend. The last screening will take place on Sunday, August 8 at 6 p.m. ET.
The Rift Tour has five showtimes spread out over three days to ensure that fans from all around the world can see it. Fans should come 60 minutes before showtime in Fortnite, and the Rift Tour Playlist should be available 30 minutes before each concert. Before Ariana arrives, the Rift Tour begins with Fortnite-themed experiences, which combine hit songs with moments inspired by the game.

This may appear strange to some, but these events have proven to be extremely effective in the past. Travis Scott’s virtual concert set a new record for concurrent gamers in Fortnite, with over 12 million people playing at the same time. Given Ariana Grande’s massive popularity and the fact that Fortnite is a free game, there’s a good potential that this concert will set a few records of its own.
