Flo Milli’s debut mixtape, Ho, Why Are You Here?, was released just last summer, catapulting the Alabama native to the forefront of hip-newest hop’s generation of rappers. She would go on to perform at the 2020 BET Hip-Hop Awards before being selected for the XXL Freshman class in 2021. Now she’s working on her formal first record, which she talked about in an interview with Clash Magazine.
“This project is not the same as Ho, Why Are You Here? “Because of its versatility,” she explained. “I’ve been experimenting with new stuff, but you’ll have to wait and see!” Flo Milli, in addition to being one of rap’s most promising emerging performers, is also a young adolescent. When asked about striking a balance between work and life, she offered some sound advise on how we should utilize social media.
“My number one piece of social media advise is to avoid comparing yourself to others. I understand that social media is a major deal in our society, and individuals my age have a tendency to compare themselves to others to see if they are more successful; but, I would advise you not to let that deter you. If anything, use it to motivate you to outperform your peers. Many people become disheartened and give up because they believe they aren’t good enough. As women, we have the ultimate superpower: we have the ability to produce life! Everyone should maintain their uniqueness and progress at their own pace to the top.
