Bonnaroo is one of America’s best and most popular festivals, thanks in large part to the fact that thousands of people come to camp out during the event. The culture they’ve created around that component of the event is extremely unique, but it’s also something the festival organizers must carefully evaluate for safety and weather considerations. As a result of the damage caused by Hurricane Ida in the southeast during the previous few days, the difficult decision has been made to restrict camp ground areas.
In a Facebook post tonight, the Tennessee-based event informed supporters that they would be able to get a refund on their tickets if they no longer wanted to attend due to the reduced camping capacity. “Mother Nature has forced us to reduce our camping capacity due to the expectation of considerable rain on The Farm from Hurricane Ida, and the knowing that portions of our campgrounds would be rendered unusable,” they stated.
“We are offering a refund window so Bonnaroovians who no longer wish to attend can request full refunds across all ticket and accommodation types. The refund request window is open NOW and will end on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021 at 8 pm CT. All current ticket holders will receive an email from Front Gate Tickets shortly with information on how to request a refund. Refunds will be processed within 7-10 days to the original method of payment.”
Keep in mind that a negative COVID-19 test or proof of immunization is required if you still wish to attend the event.
