The Suicide Squad — or, more accurately, the current, Will Smith-less sorta-sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad — got off to a fast start: Before the opening credits even began, it had taken out a large portion of the actors. Pete Davidson, too! By the end of the film, writer/director James Gunn had taken a step back. We realized that both Weasel and John Cena’s fascist Peacemaker weren’t quite dead in the end credits. (After all, the latter has his own program to run.) However, Gunn has now revealed that they aren’t the only two.
On Monday, Gunn resorted to Twitter to bring out a detail that many people may have overlooked. “It’s important to note that TDK isn’t dead if you look at the life signals in the Comms hub,” Gunn said, alluding to Nathan Fillion’s character, a superhero with…detachable limbs. Based on one of the most WTF characters in DC history, he’s arguably the most WTF of the Squad this round. (The Detachable Kid, while he’s also known as Arm Fall Off Boy, is the acronym, which Fillion’s character is unwilling to explain.)
Indeed, if you look closely at the digital read-out on Amanda Walker’s computer, showing the life stats of each Squad member, TDK is one of the only ones that’s still green. His arms got pelted with machine gun fire, but the guy’s fate remained unresolved.
One person who did catch this bit was Fillion himself, when he went to go see the movie.
