While being robbed at gunpoint, a gutsy Subway worker defends herself. Her boss becomes enraged and suspends the employee when he convinces the man to leave.
This past weekend, Araceli Sotelo was working at a Subway in Rockford, Illinois, when a guy entered the business and pointed a gun at her. The man demanded that she hand him the cash from the store.
Fortunately, the store cameras were turned on, and the tape was eventually leaked to the local Rockford Scanner. Later, the video became widely circulated on Facebook.
The woman can be heard pleading for the man to leave and stop in the footage. A little tussle may be seen between the two. The woman has the upper hand on the male and manages to dislodge the gun.
She got a grip of the gun after ripping the robber’s pullover off and knocked him out! The man then exits the store, but not before stealing her pocketbook.
You’d think the manager would be relieved that things didn’t become any worse. He appears to be more irritated by the fact that the footage is available on the internet. Sotelo claims the management contacted her after the event and told her she couldn’t work or be paid unless the video was taken down from the internet. Sotelo denies being the one who released it, but now that the film has gone viral, it will be difficult to remove it off the internet.
