Drake’s Certified Lover Boy drew a lot of attention thanks to a series of disses he directed at Kanye West. On the album, though, Drake had a beef with someone else. The rapper took a swipe at Swizz Beatz on his track “You Only Live Twice,” which he co-wrote with Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. He raps, “Unthinkable when I think of how these n****s have been acting.” “I never did anything for you, and you act like we’re family, huh? Next thing, you want to shoot me down, it can’t be love / I’m not sure where you were trying to send it, it can’t be up / You sounded like a b*tch that day, you fancy, huh?”
Swizz Beatz addressed the diss in an appearance with The Angie Martinez Show, but he didn’t respond (yet). During the sit-down, he said, “I’m chilling.” “I know a lot of people want to see me react and do all of these things, but I’m in such a beautiful place right now. I expressed my feelings, and he expressed his. Hey, man, I guess we’re on the same page. As far as I’m concerned, I’m fine… and I genuinely enjoy the song.”
Swizz continued, “And, you know, he didn’t go too crazy in the album, did he? That man is a talented artist, and he could have said anything. He could’ve given me approximately 40 bars if he wanted to. He articulated exactly what he meant. He was able to get it off his chest. “Everyone be blessed.”
Swizz had issue with Drake after his partnership with Busta Rhymes was published online, prompting Drake’s insult.
