Uzo Aduba knows how to keep a secret and keep her personal life out of the press in Hollywood. Last year, the star of “Orange Is the New Black” married cinematographer Robert Sweeting, and she shared a snapshot from their wedding day on Instagram.
“When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.” —When Harry Met Sally. For some of us, it can feel like we spend our whole lives waiting for our special someone. My heart, my love — I’m so happy my life started last year with you. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me. ❤️,” the actress posted on IG.
Aduba, who presently stars as Dr. Brooke Taylor on HBO’s “In Treatment,” married Sweeting in a private ceremony in New York last year, according to People. “This year is their one-year anniversary,” a source close to the situation told People.
Aduba also lost her mother in November, but she didn’t open up about it until April. Sweeting appears to have aided her in coping with her devastating loss, as he also shared a few photos and a post expressing his love for her.
“One year ago I married this gorgeous, talented and incredible woman. This past year has made me appreciate the fragile nature of life and the importance of living it. At a time where the world is upside down, we learned to find joy and peace in each other. You are the greatest person I’ve ever know and I’m proud to be your husband. #happyanniversary,” Sweeting wrote.
