Apple has released a new trailer for Jon Stewart’s new film The Problem with Jon Stewart, with less than a week till his official return to television. The show, like The Daily Show, will focus on current affairs. The episodes will be one hour long, and Stewart promises a more in-depth and in-depth look at serious themes that will not be centered on comedy. Entirely.
Stewart may be seen in one clip hurling his typical wit at what looks to be a government official about veterans’ health problems as a result of exposure to burn pits. The Problem with Jon Stewart will focus on the care, or lack thereof, that veterans and 9/11 first responders have received over the last 20 years, jumping ahead of his work on Capitol Hill. Stewart hasn’t been hesitant to take the issue all the way to Washington, where he’s stood up to senators and confronted them, so don’t expect him to hold back on his own show.
The official synopsis is as follows:
It’s easy to feel helpless in the face of the world’s issues. It’s more difficult to pinpoint the systems that cause them. Jon Stewart hosts this series in which he brings together people who are affected by all aspects of a problem to debate one basic question: How do we bring about change?
The Problem with Jon Stewart premieres on Apple TV+ on September 30.
