Liza Womack, Lil Peep’s mother, and her late son’s record company have been involved in a legal struggle for a long time, and while it has yet to be settled, Womack has made another complaint against them. According to Rolling Stone, Peep’s mother believes that First Access Entertainment owes her $4 million and that their inability to pay her is a “transparent” attempt to sabotage the wrongful death and business litigation against the FAE and its leader. At a court hearing on Tuesday, FAE refuted the charges, claiming Peep’s mother was to fault for the delay.
During Tuesday’s court hearing, Womack’s lawyer Paul A. Matiasic said, “FAE is trying to choke off her funds by refusing her royalty revenue that they know she’s owed.” The $4 million owing to his client, according to Matiasic, is royalty payments from Peep’s music that FAE allegedly “acknowledged” it owes to his estate. He also called his client’s connection with FAE “dysfunctional” and asked the court to intervene in the case.
In court, FAE’s lawyer, John W. Amberg, stated, “It’s not accurate that it’s dysfunctional.” “It’s also false that FAE owes the estate more than $4 million. That simply isn’t the case. That’s merely a ruse to generate compassion in this situation.”
The accusation against FAE comes four months after Womack revealed she suffered two strokes since the tragic death of her son at the end of 2017. “I am not going to die until I take care of this matter,” she said at the time in regards to wrongful death lawsuit. “I’m going to live. I have a mission.”
