Burna Boy, the afropop phenomenon, is on a roll. Not only does he have a headline show at the Hollywood Bowl coming up — he’ll be the first African musician to do so — but he’s been steadily releasing new music that’s keeping him afloat after the triumph of his Grammy-winning album, Twice As Tall. On the longing “Want It All,” he is joined by none other than Polo G, making it one of his most high-profile collaborations to date.
The two artists take turns flexing about their recent triumphs, remembering how difficult things used to be, and facing up to the pressure that their present success has brought in the collaboration’s video. Polo G, of course, is a rising Chicago rapper who recently announced his own headlining tour in support of his No. 1 album, Hall Of Fame.
Burna commented on the collaboration, saying he’d had his eye on Polo for a while and was excited to collaborate with him. “I’d been watching him for a while and knew something had to be done, but it had to be done in such a way that the entire world could feel the reality of both of us,” he explained. Take a look at the video above to see both musicians basking in the spotlight.
