One Taylor Swift Fan Explains The Difference Between “Folklore” And “Evermore” To Taylor, And She Agrees

Now, to pour a nice glass of red wine and play some Evermore.

The Swifties are simply made of different material. Yes, many fan communities are extremely active online and devoted to their favorite artists, but Taylor Swift devotees are continually co-creating meaning around her music. Taylor also likes to step in now and then to let her devoted fans know that she notices and appreciates their inventiveness. That’s exactly what happened when one Swiftie, @izzy 1989, used the opportunity to compare and contrast Taylor’s two most recent albums, Folklore and Evermore.

When you think about the albums, the comparison, while stylized to fit into a type of humorous format Twitter likes to utilize, seems to hold up when you think about them: Foklore was released in the summer and is a little more fresh and sorrowful, with a touch of sweetness and lightness. Evermore, on the other hand, was released in the winter, and it’s a lot more country and, in some ways, a richer, darker, and more sophisticated album. The analogy is quite apt!

And according to her most recent favs on Twitter, Taylor happens to agree! She liked the tweet, making it her first fav since August! And of course it went pretty viral after she gave her co-sign. Now, to pour a nice glass of red wine and play some Evermore.
