Skittles revealed in a news release that the taste is returning after an eight-year absence. The flavor was replaced in 2013 by a green apple flavor. Green apple, according to People, outperformed lime in taste testing. Lime-flavored Skittles, on the other hand, were still available in limited quantities. Wrigley Senior Brand Manager Fernando Rodrigues stated in a statement, “Green Apple has had a terrific run, but the fans have spoken, and it’s time for lime to return to the rainbow.”

This is the last time.” In October, fans of Skittles may look forward to the reintroduction of the lime flavor.
