Verzuz will square off against legendary rappers Big Daddy Kane and KRS-One later this month. Following last month’s duel between Fat Joe and Ja Rule and the one between The LOX and Dipset in August, this will be the third straight matchup between New York stars.
Big Daddy Kane, who was born in Brooklyn, and KRS-One, who was born in the Bronx, will square off at the Barclays Center on Sunday, October 17 at 7 p.m. EST. While their duel is greatly anticipated, there is another musician who many Versuz fans have been hoping to see perform for a long time.
Diddy is the individual in question. There have been a few suggestions for who he should fight, but Diddy has stated that only one person is worthy: Dr. Dre. Jermaine Dupri tried to join the fray, but Diddy shot him down, telling him, “Your arms are too short to box with God!!!” This resulted in an emotional Instagram Livestream in which Dupri and Diddy traded playful shots.
Damon Wayans had previously stated his desire to challenge Dave Chappelle to a comic rendition of Verzuz. “Chappelle, I’m going to call him out!” During an August appearance on KBXX 97.9 The Box, Wayans said.
