Two of today’s newest hip-hop acts have teamed up for a blistering track in an unusual pairing. Tyla Yaweh and Morray have teamed up for their new single, “Hands Up,” in which they take a stand against a powerful institution: the police force. The video for the song features the two fighting back against the cops when a loved one is taken away from them. Their conflict overflows onto the streets, where Yaweh and Morray, with the support of some of their friends, raise the stakes of their resistance as their comrade tries to break away from the police’s hands.
Tyla Yaweh and Morray have only one project under their belts. Heart Full Of Rage, Yaweh’s lone album, was released in 2019 and featured eleven tracks as well as guest performances from French Montana and Pnb Rock. Morray made his debut earlier this year with Street Sermons, a 12-track album that included the hit single “Quicksand.”
Yaweh is now working on his sophomore album, Rager Boy, which will be released later this year. Singles like “Stuntin On You” and “Tommy Lee” help to promote the album. Morray, on the other hand, recently dropped his single “Bad Situations” and is presently on the road with 21 Savage in support of J. Cole’s The Off-Season Tour.
