Despite a tumultuous start to the weekend, Ye is ending it on a positive note thanks to his appearance on Drink Champs. The rapper dedicated this weekend’s Sunday Service show, which was livestreamed on Triller, Revolt, and YouTube, to the victims of Travis Scott’s 2021 Astroworld Festival. As spectators waited for the webcast to begin at 4 p.m. EST, a message stated, “Sunday Service dedicated to the loved ones of Astroworld.”
Ye’s Sunday Service concert is his second in as many weekends, after a hiatus of more than 18 months. Justin Bieber, Roddy Ricch, and Marilyn Manson, who is accused of sexual and emotional abuse, all made appearances on last week’s episode. Tracks from Ye’s ninth Donda were performed there, including “Come To Life,” “Hurricane,” and “Pure Souls,” and Bieber and Manson both led prayers throughout the event.
On N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s podcast Drink Champs, Ye recently gave an unedited interview. During the interview, which was released on Thursday night, Ye stated signing Big Sean was the “worst thing I’ve ever done,” and he reiterated his support for Donald Trump. He also claimed that producer Just Blaze had stolen his production technique, an accusation that Jay-Z later refuted.
