After reports of difficulties between Harris’ administration and staff in the White House, Vice President Kamala Harris’ communication director resigned.
Ashley Etienne is said to have resigned from her position after CNN highlighted difficulties within the Harris administration, with multiple staffers claiming they wanted out totally. ‘Ashley is an important part of the vice president’s team who has worked relentlessly to further the administration’s objectives. In December, she will leave the White House to pursue other possibilities, according to a White House official.
According to a person familiar with Etienne’s work as communications director, she was “not a good fit” since she failed to design Harris’ communication strategy during her first year in office. Etienne also worked for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Obama administration as a communications director.
Furthermore, Vice President Harris is said to be limited in what she can achieve and to have other objectives in the near future, which is raising alarm in the Biden administration.
“They’re consistently sending her out there on losing issues in the wrong situations for her skill set”, one of her former aides said to CNN.
