As a resident of Detroit, it’s no surprise that Big Sean, who was just released from GOOD Music, was chosen to perform a halftime concert during today’s Lions game, dubbed their annual Thanksgiving Day duel against the Chicago Bears. But it’s the best reactions from parents who aren’t regularly tuned into the hip-hop world that performances like these seem to elicit. On a vacation like today, many parents are off work and at home with their children, and it appears that everyone of those otherwise attentive parents was thinking about what was going on when Big Sean took the stage.
Sean began his performance in a novel way, from the stands, shocking fans in the area:
Although it appears like they were underwhelmed by the performance, perhaps they were simply taken aback? Most of us haven’t gone to a major arena performance in over a year and a half, so these fans may simply be rusty. Or you’re already irritated because the Lions aren’t playing their best today. However, all of the parents at home were sharing their opinions on the show with their children, and those youngsters responded in the only way that makes sense when you’re stuck at home on vacation: they posted it on Twitter. Since Sean brought out his own parents to end the show, it’s only fair that everyone else adds their two cents. Take a look at some of the reactions below.
My mom about Big Sean: “That’s the I don’t fuck with youuuu guy? He’s handsome!”
My dad: “Jan, Ne-Yo sings ‘Closer’. Get with it, even EYE know that. Mary blasted enough of it in high school…”
