Saweetie has kept her fans waiting for her highly anticipated debut album, Pretty B*tch Music, for the past six months, having postponed its release from June. Despite the delay, Saweetie has continued to release songs in large quantities. This includes her Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 project and her most recent single, “Icy Chain.” However, it appears that the wait for Pretty B*tch Music will be prolonged, as Saweetie has announced a new project for next month.
Saweetie stated she wants to release a new project, Icy Season, on January 7th, during a conversation moderated by writer Gerrick Kennedy on Thursday. Saweetie “promises collabs galore and considers the upcoming record to be the ‘beautiful b*tch bible,'” said Tomás Mier, a music writer for People, in a tweet.
The news comes after she contributed “Get It Girl,” a lively track that finds her at ease in her self-assured pocket, to the soundtrack for Issa Rae’s Insecure’s fifth season. She also performed “Icy Chain” as well as a medley of “Tap In” and “Best Friend” on Saturday Night Live.
