Toigo released not one but TWO music videos for his latest singles. The first music video for “We’ve Got Tonight to Leave Me Broken” shows Toigo jamming out in his room and hitting the Las Vegas strip. A mysterious girl comes up to whisper in his ear and gives him a pill. After he takes the pill, Toigo wakes up and the second music video begins. This time he’s out in the middle of nowhere and things get trippy. It’s a clever transition, and both music videos have some great shots (although to be fair I think the Las Vegas strip ones could have been taken out for a stronger final music video).
The songs are both enjoyable though. “We’ve Got Tonight to Leave Me Broken” appears to be upbeat but its lyrics have a more melancholic vibe as Toigo sings that “you took my smile and made it still/so blind I’ll never leave.” “Another Shade of Blue” leaves all hints of upbeatness and is slower and hazier. Toigo describes himself as a “Beatles enthusiast” and it definitely shows in this track.
