According to FoxNews, British researchers found that taking one Pfizer dose and then another dose of Moderna nine weeks later produced a greater immune system response than taking only the two Pfizer doses.
The study, conducted by Oxford University students, looked at the immune system reactions of 1,070 individuals who received a combination of vaccinations from Oxford-AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, Novavax, and Moderna.
“Encouragingly, all these schedules generated antibody concentrations above that of the licensed and effective two dose Oxford-AstraZeneca schedule,” Professor Matthew Snape, stated.
“When it comes to cellular immunity, having a first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine followed by any of the other study vaccines generates a particularly robust response.”
Two Pfizer dosages fulfilled by Novavax produced greater results than two AstraZeneca doses, but a weaker immune system reaction than two Pfizer doses.
Americans can mix and match immunizations when getting their booster injections, according to latest CDC recommendations.
On Tuesday, European Union health experts allowed mixing and matching, claiming that it could “induce a broader range of immunological responses.”
