The new Netflix film Don’t Look Up, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio, is out today, and music aficionados have no doubt heard that Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi play music power couple Riley Bina and DJ Chello, respectively. They released “Just Look Up,” the film’s original song, last week, and now that the film is out, they’ve released the moment in which they sing it live.
The scene depicts Grande’s persona singing the song on a large stage set-up that appears to be comparable to what she would use on one of her tours. Grande wears a white costume with feather-like protrusions protruding out of her torso, and Cudi’s persona subsequently joins her on stage with a comparable white jacket. As one brief glimpse demonstrates, Lawrence and DiCaprio’s characters are observed from the side of the stage the entire time.
Grande and Cudi are among the most experienced actors among contemporary musicians. Prior to music, Grande was most recognized for her roles in the Nickelodeon shows Victorious and Sam & Cat, in which she played Cat Valentine. Meanwhile, Cudi has starred in shows such as How To Make It In America and Comedy Bang! Bang! We Are Who We Are, and We Are Who We Are.
