On Thursday night, Tom Holland paid a visit to Late Night with Seth Meyers, and he brought gifts with him. The major one, of course, was Spider-Man: No Way Home’s opening scene. Following on from the events of Far From Home, Holland’s Spider-Man discovers his secret identity is being revealed by J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons), who has allegedly been present throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe? But there’s no time for that as passers-by start to notice Zendaya’s M.J. Our hero swoops in and pulls her off the streets as Peter Parker’s girlfriend, causing our hero to swoop in and get her off the streets. Unfortunately, he leaves her perched perilously on the edge of a bridge, which may or may not have been the safest option, and she informs Peter.
Following the footage, Holland spoke with Meyers about how the set always has a bottle of lube on hand because getting out of his super-tight Spidey suit doesn’t always go as planned. Holland claims that all they have to do is put some lube on the “zips” to get things flowing.
Holland did add, however, that No Way Home was shot during the Covid era, so the bottle of lube created some amusement when it was mistaken for hand sanitizer. Holland claims that just two individuals were involved: Marvel producer Mitch Bell and a boom operator, but he doesn’t deny that the blunder was “golden.”
On December 17, Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in theaters.
