As the holidays approach, The Happy Pill Academy released a new album, Postcards to and from a Doomed Civilisation, about a robot who goes on holiday. The idea is pretty creative, and the album starts off pretty promising as well.
“A Transient Dot in My Otherwise Perfect Sky” is the perfect balance of quirky and calming but “George the Pilot” is a little too chaotic. Overall, the album would be enjoyable for any fans of Pink Floyd who are willing to go on a musical journey with a variety of sounds.
“From a tearful farewell to disappointing sight-seeing trips, kidnapping attempts and home again(?); our intrepid mechanical protagonist is ever-hopeful that they will find meaning in a meaningless existence.” Listen to the album below to (maybe) find out.
