Hip-hop and Christmas have gone together like bows and wrapping paper since rap’s debut, yet the mix may occasionally result in some disturbing pairings. Rap music, after all, frequently contains sexual or violent material, which conflicts tremendously with the family-friendly image that the Yuletide season has come to represent. However, it may be quite amusing at times. Jucee Froot’s racy “Christmas List” video, in which she cosplays as a sexy Grinch (I can’t believe I typed that either, gang), right down to the fuzzy fingers, while her scantily-clad crew of reindeer dancers frolics around a Christmas tree, is a perfect example.
Jucee’s daughter appears in the video, adding to the absurdity of the situation as she reels off a Christmas list that will almost certainly land her on the naughty list, as well as send Santa to the doghouse for a week if Mrs. Claus peeks over his shoulder while reading it. Imagine how much it will hurt Saint Nick’s back carrying all those presents after sleeping on the couch. Jucee, you should be ashamed of yourself. Shaaame.
Fans of the unapologetic Memphis rapper have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up to her first album Black Sheep for almost a year (much like kids on Christmas! ), so this news is a delicious snack that will hopefully precede some new music in the new year.
