Last summer, the Avengers came out of the woodwork to laud Bridger Walker, a six-year-old child who put himself between a German Shephard and his younger sister, resulting in 90 stitches in his face. While most people have forgotten about Tom Holland’s bravery, he has not. The Spider-Man: No Way Home star followed through on his promise to bring Bridger to the set, and it was all a young Spidey fan could want for.
According to Bridger’s father (Robert Walker), Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Flash Thompson actor Tony Revolori went out of their way to make the visit unique for the little hero. They made the entire Walker family feel special, and they were sure to express their gratitude to the Marvel stars for the unforgettable day.
I was worried when we initially got on set that if the “curtain was pulled back,” the magic of the movies would be gone on the youngsters. The exact reverse was the case! Our kids felt like stars thanks to Tom, Zendaya, Harry, @lifeisaloha, @tonyrevolori, and the rest of the cast and crew. They don’t simply pretend to be pleasant neighborhood heroes; they are exactly that.
When we turned the blue-screen to see Tom in full costume, high above the set on a light post, the sight on the kids’ faces was priceless. It was heartbreaking to see him wave at the children as if he was the one who should be pleased, not the other way around.
The Walkers also shared a set video of Bridger getting to help Holland film a scene by “filling in for Zendaya.” Fair warning though, try not to get misty-eyed watching Spidey make a boy feel like the true hero he is. So many feels.
