The parole of one of the two men found guilty in Michael Jordan’s father’s murder has been revoked.
In July 1993, when James Jordan Sr. pulled over to sleep at a rest stop in North Carolina, Larry Demery and Daniel Green were convicted of shooting and killing him.
In 2024, Demery was set to be released. According to the Texas Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission, his parole was revoked on December 28, 2021, owing to several prison offenses, according to ESPN.
Demery is said to have earned 19 violations since 2001, including two this month for “substance possession,” and the “agreement has been dissolved” effective immediately as a result of this examination. In two years, Demery will be up for re-parole.
When Demery and Green ran up on James Jordan Sr. snoozing at a rest stop and killed him, they were both 18 years old. In 1995, Demery pled guilty and agreed to turn state’s evidence against Green, whom he claims pulled the trigger.
Demery, like his co-conspirator Green, was sentenced to life in prison plus 40 years. His sentence was lowered to life in prison due to a clerical error, allowing him to apply for parole.
