Since the 1990s, Destroyer has released new albums on a regular basis, the most recent of which was 2020’s Have We Met. Currently, they’re working on Labyrinthitis, their freshly announced thirteenth album, which will be released on March 25. It was also revealed that they released a video for “Tintoretto, It’s For You,” an experimental track with a lot of musical concepts packed into three minutes.
The video, according to Dan Bejar:
“Since’mystery’ and ‘going nowhere’ are two of my favorite subjects, I had the idea of penning a couple lines on them.” That, and being pursued by some silent, unnameable monster that lurks one foot to the left of you, and the Grim Reaper. Especially as the degradation of the world becomes less abstract. I also wanted to write about terror’s romance. The song ‘Tintoretto, It’s for You,’ as well as the video, talks to all of these issues.”
The Labyrinthitis image and tracklist may be seen below the “Tintoretto, It’s For You” video. Check out his previously announced 2022 tour dates below if you missed them.
