For Spencer Elliott’s fourth album, SE3, he “assembled with the core ingredients of traditional rock and roll, guitar, bass, and drums; the mission of this album is to test the limits of those ingredients, not only in composition, but in genre. ” As a result, I’m not sure if he broke through any genre walls, but the instrumental album is enjoyable.
The lead single “Torque” is pleasant in a way that keeps you listening. The sounds remain steady without having any signature moments, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless.
