Olivia Rodrigo, who recently joined the (love) club of young adolescent pop phenoms, made it plain that she was heavily affected by the females who came before her.
Olivia is an outspoken lover of Taylor Swift and Lorde, so it’s no surprise that she listens to deep cuts from her favorite pop stars while she’s celebrating personal (or professional) triumphs. Rodrigo tweeted a snapshot of her cake that was imprinted with a lyrical quotation from Lorde’s song “Perfect Places” from her Melodrama album: “I’m 19 and I’m on fire.” Rodrigo shared a series of photos from her 19th birthday on social media today.
Olivia’s dress was more Kacey Musgraves than Lorde or Taylor, however she was channeling Lorde for the sweet area of her party – a hot pink, lacy, and sheer tank top and skirt with a hot pink cowboy hat. Anyone attending Kacey’s continuing Star-Crossed tour is required to wear it.
“Thank u for all the birthday luv! i am now 19!!!!!!!” Rodrigo captioned her photo set, which you can see up above, and scroll through for the cake photo. Her actual birthday was this Sunday, February 20th — which is the same as Rihanna — so hopefully she had a great day celebrating.
