While the raves have been closed during the pandemic, Mint June’s latest album “Surrendinging Nina” is bringing the vibes to wherever you listen to the project. The five-track album is guaranteed to get any house-fan (and possibly even some non-house fans) to dance.
The album isn’t just groovy though. It also has a story to it.
“Each track has its own vibe that I think is tailored to the overall ethos of the project, portraying the beauty and disorder of modern underground rave culture through the tale of Nina, a part-time bartender who finds herself overindulging in drug use when she meets a new friend named Paige,” reads a press release from Mint June.
The album kicks off with the upbeat and hopeful-sounding song “Paige” then leads to the noticeably upbeat track “You’ll Like It” and then the sensual song “Those Guys.” It finishes off with a vibey song “Montage,” and ends with the slow, meditation-like song “Nina.”
On top of the clever album concept, the project is overall enjoyable. Listen to it below.
