When you first listen to Globus’ project aptly titled Cinematica, it feels like something epic is about to take place. Between the dark lyrics, a haunting choir, a string-heavy orchestra, and the lead singer’s chilling voice, the gothic rock album provides an eerie vibe that’s perfect for a movie score.
Unsurprisingly, Yoav Goren, the band’s founder, has previous experience in scoring the film trailers for Spider-Man, X-Men, and Harry Potter.
“With Cinematica, I wanted to create a musical journey, much like the best of cinematic experiences, which takes the listener through a myriad of visual landscapes and deep connections to the essential fibers of the human condition,” said Goren in a quote provided to media. “It’s vital to me that the intended result is a visceral, immersive, bigger-than-life aural experience for the listener,” he continued.
A stand-out on the album includes the first track, “Peace in Our Time.” The slow melodic track serves as the perfect soundtrack for any hero about to go on a harrowing adventure.
“This is the making of a legend,” croons the lead singer. “Until we all will know his name.”
