If you’ve been craving new bars from Method Man, you’re in luck! The Wu-Tang Clan member has a new verse on Mic Nickels “El Matador,” and it’s fire. Nickels comes through with some noteworthy bars of his own as well.
According to Nickels, MF DOOM was slated to be featured on the track but did not complete his bars before he passed. As for the Meth feature, Nickels said it was a “complete honor for him to hear my music and say yea.”
In a statement to press, Nickels said that “[t]he idea behind the track was to discuss how one deals with their opponents, almost how a matador plays with their aggressor. The premise came to me after reaching The Sun Also Rises, by Hemingway.”
“El Matador” is the final single for Nickels’ upcoming album, Bars for Days, which is slated to be released on December 21 alongside his “ethnographic memoir that bares the same title and cover” where “[r]eaders can access the album directly from the book, and will find certain stories correspond with the music directly.”
