As expected, “Music’s Biggest Night” was full of pleasant surprises and jaw-dropping performance. For a few, it was also a night of achieving major milestones and career defining breakthroughs. Among this elite list of showstoppers was none other than the enchanting Olivia Dean.
With her seductive lyrics and seductive tone, the Haringey, London native has made history winning Best New Artist at this year’s ceremony. The historic win is Dean’s very first Grammy. It also makes Dean the first artist from England to win the award since Dua Lipa in 2019.
Adding to the excitement of the night, Dean ignited the stage with a rousing performance of her mega hit “Man I Need”. Clad in a sparkling red minidress, Dean energetically sashayed across the stage as the audience gleefully sang along. As her band complimented her every move, her undeniable star power dripped from every note that fell from her lips.
As a result, she continues to captivate fans everywhere with her soulful blend of pop, R&B, and neo-soul. Dean’s win places her among past winners like Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Alessia Cara, marking the ninth consecutive year the award has gone to a solo female artist.
With so many captivating moments tonight, many are already anticipating next year’s ceremony. Hosted by Trevor Noah, the 68th Annual Grammy Awards broadcasted live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
