Two of the most storied record labels in Southern hip-hop history are joining forces for something fans have wanted for a long time. Cash Money Records and No Limit Records have officially announced a joint tour set to hit 17 cities this fall, with presale tickets going live June 17 and general sale opening June 19.
The tour brings together the rosters of both labels under one roof, with Master P and Birdman — the founders of No Limit and Cash Money, respectively — leading the charge alongside a stacked lineup of artists. Joining them will be Juvenile, Silkk The Shocker, Mannie Fresh, B.G., Mia X, Choppa Style, Mac, Mercedes, Fiend, and Mr. Serv-On. Memphis mainstay Boosie Badazz will also join as a supporting act, adding even more Southern flavor to an already loaded bill.
Master P addressed the magnitude of the moment in a statement: “The fans have been waiting for a tour like this for a long time. We came from New Orleans and built something the world had never seen before — movements that changed music, hip hop culture, and the business forever.”
The announcement follows a successful VERZUZ faceoff between the two labels that generated enormous fan enthusiasm. That battle proved there was a deep appetite for a live celebration of both catalogs, and this tour appears to be the natural next step.
The tour kicks off September 11 in Houston at Toyota Center and runs through November 15 in Cleveland at Rocket Arena. Other stops include New Orleans, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Dallas, Chicago, Tampa, and Miami, among others. Notable arena stops include State Farm Arena in Atlanta on September 18 and Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on October 8.
For hip-hop fans who grew up in the late ’90s and early 2000s, this tour represents a rare opportunity to see a full celebration of an era when New Orleans was one of the hottest creative hubs in all of American music. Tickets are available at bmnshows.com.
