LeSean McCoy is perhaps the best running back in the league. He’s extremely popular and well liked within the Fantasy Football circles, but as of today he may not be quite as popular within waiters and waitresses circles as it would appear that he’s a poor tipper.
A Philadelphia burger restaurant called PYT posted a photo of the receipt left by the Eagles star to its Facebook page, adding that McCoy had left a 20-cent tip on a $61.56 bill yesterday afternoon.
“The twenty cent tip that the Eagles’ LeSean McCoy just left our server on his $60 check is going to come in really handy for that new official NFL McCoy jersey he had his heart set on,” the message posted to PYT’s Facebook page reads. “That is a .03% tip. New record!”
Rob Knelly, McCoy’s server at the restaurant, told NJ.com that the running back’s party was loud.
“As soon as they sat down, they were pretty rude,” Knelly said. “I asked some questions; they weren’t really responsive. They were cursing, making derogatory comments. I put their order in and forgot one of their appetizers, which I apologized for. They ordered things and, once they got it, said ‘We ain’t eating this s—. We don’t want it.'”
When reached for comment by a reporter for the Philadelphia Daily News, McCoy said, “It’s bull—-,” but declined to elaborate.
We’ve seen this kind of thing before with receipts being faked for publicity and things like that, but Philly Mag got in touch with the restaurant’s owner, and he assured them that the receipt is real.
Like so many stories, this one has two sides. Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News delivers McCoy’s.
Asked LeSean McCoy about the restaurant receipt thing. “It’s bull****, man,” he said. Declined request to elaborate.

On McCoy receipt thing: my understanding is, he was really ticked about service. But org wishes he’d handled it differently. He understands

Some Facebook users, though, criticized the restaurant for posting the receipt.
