It looks like Rush Limbaugh is the next “victim” of the contraception war being waged between the Democrats and Republicans.
Several of his advertisers have announced they are pulling their ads on his show over comments he made where he called a Georgetown law student a “Slut” and a “Prostitute”.
Sleep Train Mattress Store has said they were bombarded on Twitter with people who were outraged at the comments Limbaugh made to Sarah Fluke when she was denied the right to testify at a congressional hearing about contraception and they issued a statement confirming that they will no longer advertise with the nationally syndicated radio program.
“As a diverse company, Sleep Train does not condone such negative comments directed toward any person. We have currently pulled our ads with Rush Limbaugh,” the statement said.
This announcement brings to a sudden end a relationship dating back to Limbaugh’s run at Sacramento’s KFBK (1530 AM) in the 1980s.
“If we’re going to pay for your contraceptives and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”
Almost immediately Limbaugh was universally condemned by politicians and by the general public. While it is unlikely that most of his listeners would complain about what he said it seems that the general population was not very happy.
What’s your opinion on Rush’s comments?
