These past few days have been rough for Tim Tebow. He’s gone from the starting quarterback of a playoff team to a potential gimmick player who only sees a few snaps a game.
Tebow is being replaced by the elaborate Peyton Manning who the Broncos signed to a lucrative 5 – year, $96 million deal, but what does this mean for the all mighty comeback kid?
Joey Porter, who played for the Arizon Cardinals last season, considers Tim Tebow the Justin Bieber of the NFL. “Anybody who brings him in right now, you would think they’re trying to do it for ticket sales. So it’s good to have a Justin Bieber because you’re going to get a whole lot of fans. That’s what I compare it to. He’s the Justin Bieber of the NFL.” He also stated that if he were to play with Tebow he would be disappointed.
Last season, Tebow had the second highest selling jersey throughout the NFL, increased Bronco’s ticket sales immensely, and he completely captivated the nation.
Tim Tebow wins. Hands down. He has this incredible ability to get people around him to believe, but can it last? The comparison to Bieber makes sense. He has roles in TV shows, two popular albums, and put out a very successful movie. Ask any teenage girl about Bieber and they’ll spill their heart out to you, but will his success last?
