It looks like Fox News made a new friend.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving ABC’s “The View” for Fox News’ “Fox and Friends”. According to The Hollywood Reporter, an ABC spokesperson confirmed Wednesday was indeed Hasselbeck’s final show with “The View”. Hasselbeck will begin her tenure at Fox News this fall.
Hasselbeck will be replacing Gretchen Carlson on “Fox and Friends”. Don’t worry, Carlson fans, she will still be on TV. According to the Los Angeles Times, Wilson will be receiving her own one-hour show with Fox News. Wilson’s show is supposed to begin in the fall, and will air in the afternoon.
Hasselbeck first gained notoriety as a contestant on CBS’ reality-show “Survivor”. However, now she is more known for her political views on “The View”. It appears Hasselbeck is leaving on good terms. According to the Baltimore Sun, Barbara Walters, one of the co-hosts of “The View”, and ABC both wish Hasselbeck the best of luck.
ABC released this statement, “For a decade, Hasselbeck has brought her passion and strong beliefs to “The View”…She stood behind her political views even if they were not the most popular opinions at the table never shying from voicing a difficult question. We thank Elisabeth and wish her luck as she begins this new chapter of her career.”
Both Hasselbeck and Gretchen Carlson are looking forward to their new opportunities. Carlson told The Hollywood Reporter, “I am excited to further advance my career and am thrilled to have the opportunity to host my own show in daytime and look forward to showcasing my skills as an interviewer and journalist in a more in-depth manner.”
Hasselbeck is a good fit for Fox News, as she holds conservative views. She is also a fan of the network. Hasselbeck also said “it is an honor” to work for Fox News.
