Chances are that if you own a smartphone, you are one out of the millions of people who has most likely played Temple Run and its sequel Temple Run 2. Available for iOS and Android, Temple Run became a mammoth hit among mobile gamers following its launch in 2011.
Now there is a movie studio on board to help turn this game into a movie and make a “run” at the box office.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is in talks with Harry Potter producer David Heyman to come up with the adaptation and to take the movie project forward.
This film adaptation could be interesting although I literally have no idea which way they could go based on the game. The first thought that comes to mind is an Indiana Jones-esque type film.
Temple Run wouldn’t be the first game to transcend the mobile realm to land in movie theaters. Angry Birds wins that distinction and is currently slated for a cinematic release some time in 2016.
