In our latest giveaway, we’re excited to be partnering up with Chris Bivona and his kid book creation “The Hip Hop Kids”, where we will be giving away 10 sets of books to 10lucky readers.
We interviewed Chris a few months ago, where he goes on to explain that his love of hip-hop and its culture inspired him and his partner, Gustavo, to create a line of children books that introduces kids to this form of music without the obvious misogynistic, violent, and sexual themes in many of the hip-hop songs controlling the radio airwaves today.
Hip-hop wasn’t always this way with the sex, money, and drugs, and the characters in the series of books each represent one of the four main elements of the Hip Hop culture. These books take hip-hop back to the basics when it was all about rhyming, counting (staying on beat), colors (the clothes), shapes, and the ABC’s (just having fun). The characters in these books will use these talents to teach children the basic fundamental skills of hip-hop while they learn and have fun. After all, who is better to teach kids about rhyming words than an MC?
The series of book has already received rave reviews and we are sure that your children will like these as much as we do.
The Hip Hop Kids also have an animated show in the works which you can view a preview clip of it below.
After viewing the clip, we wouldn’t be surprised if Nickelodeon came knocking down Chris’ door sometime soon.
