TV one is facing a major lawsuit over the upcoming “Hollywood Divas” which will soon air on the network.
Nichole L. Gilbert popularly known as Nicci and NOEGO Entertainment LLC have recently filed a lawsuit in Fulton County, Georgia, suing ThinkFactory Media Inc and TVOne LLC, over the Divas franchise with about 15 claims including breach of contract, defamation, fraudulent and negligent misrepresentation and emotional distress.
Nicci and Faith Evans were cast members during the first 2 seasons of “R&B Divas” in Atlanta and executive producers of the show, however, neither of them appeared in the currently airing season 3. But being left out of the “Hollywood Divas” which is soon to air was apparently the last straw.
The Brownstone singer also wants to collect punitive damages and attorney’s fees.
Nicci, via a representative claimed white male production companies have impacted the image of black women on TV, therefore, a discussion is needed to address the images of African-American Women that are being portrayed on Reality TV and changing things in the editing room to stop them from continuing to destroy Brands, families, and friendships.
