No longer is Alfonso Ribeiro known for being Carlton on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, now he has the title of Dancing With the Stars champion. The season 19 winner of Dancing With The Stars has been revealed, and his name is Alfonso. Tuesday night everyone anxiously waited as the two-part season finale came on to see who would go home with the mirror ball trophy. Alfonso Ribeiro, Janel Parrish, Sadie Robertson, were all finalists dancing their final dances Tuesday night. Audiences were all sad to say goodbye to their favorite couples, but the sadness soon left when it was announced that Alfonso Ribeiro was the winner.
It wasn’t surprising that Alfonso won the Dancing With The Stars mirror ball trophy. Through out the season Alfonso never recieved a score lower than a 32 out of 40. Even with all the injuries Alfonso seemed to face, he gave each and every dance his best. He put everything he had in his last two performances with the fusion challenge, which he had 24 hours to learn. Alfonso and his partner Witney Carson had to learn two dances with different styles to the same song. Without a doubt Alfonso was a fan favorite and has come a long way from his start, a leading role on The Tap Dance Kid on Broadway.
Ribeiro’s final score was a 80 out of 80, getting a 40 (perfect score) for both dances. “I can’t believe this,” Alfonso beams when he wins. “I’ve wanted it forever….I don’t even know what to say. These are happy tears.” Alfonso’s partner Witney was just as happy for her partner.
“You deserved it,” she said looking at her partner. The competition was an intense one and all the contestants were very talented. Season 19 of Dancing With the Stars was a very memorable one and now upon the many accomplishments Alfonso Ribeiro has, he can now offically add Dancing With The Stars Champion to that list.
