After a tragic event that mirrored the death of her mother, Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina Brown has died at just 22 years old following a seven-month medically-induced coma.
The Houston family announced the sad news via their rep on Sunday, July 26.
“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family,” the statement says. “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Her death comes about 7 months after she was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub in the suburban Atlanta townhome she shared with Nick Gordon, the man she called her husband. After failing to regain consciousness, she had been kept on life support until now. She was transferred to hospice care in June when her condition “continued to deteriorate.” She was just 22-years-old.
At the time, her aunt, Pat Houston, made the following remarks: “We thank everyone for their support and prayers,” Pat, who is married to Whitney Houston’s brother Gary, said. “She is in God’s hands now.”
Born and raised in the shadow of fame and litigation, shattered by the loss of her mother,Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina was overwhelmed by the achievements and demons of others before she could begin to figure out who she was.
Our deepest condolences to the Brown and Houston families.
