USA Network’s freshman hit show, Mr Robot, was set to air its season one finale tonight 10/9c.
However, due to this morning’s tragic events in Virginia (WDBJ shooting) and a graphic scene that apparently is similar in nature, the network made the decision to push the finale by a week and released the following statement.
The previously filmed season finale of Mr. Robot contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today’s tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight’s episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time.
Mr. Robot was previously renewed for a second season and it will now wrap it’s wild and enjoyable first season on Wednesday, September 2nd. The show stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater. Rami plays Elliot, a young computer programmer by day and a Robin Hood-esque hacker by night. Elliot suffers from social anxiety disorder and drug addictions. He’s recruited by a mysterious anarchist, who calls himself Mr. Robot.
