It’s that time of the year once again. It’s Christmas and the holiday season, and we’re really trying to end this year with a bang. We want to start 2016 off with some momentum and promise about some of the things that The Urban Twist is doing, and will be doing in the near future.
We’ve recently rebranded our site and launched a paid writer’s program where we are bringing on journalists and bloggers interested in writing about current events, and a variety of topics and getting their “twist” out there for the world to see.
In the past, these contributions would have gone unpaid, but due to our website’s growth over the past couple of years, we are now able to offer these contributor type positions as a commissioned based opportunity, plus bonuses.
We’ve come a long way and we’re excited about being able to give back to those who have helped this site grow primarily, our writers.
And we don’t really need 1,000,000 Facebook fans for Christmas, but we would strongly LIKE to have 1,000,000 Facebook fans. (Notice how we emphasized the word “like”. Subliminal message anyone?) With the way Facebook has changed their algorithms over time about how much social reach a fan page’s post can get, we thought long and hard about this. That maybe with all of these changes, with Facebook trying to push businesses such as ours into buying advertising from them to help with our post engagements on Facebook, that we should throw that money into a giveaway instead.
We’re not ashamed to ask you guys for help, and we’re not ashamed to offer an incentive for having you help us spread the word about this giveaway. So we decided to do something fun by giving away $50 in cash (through PayPal) or a $50 gift certificate to such places as Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Chipotle, Amazon, and other retailers. We’ll actually leave that up to you.
At the time of this post we’re at a little over 21,100 fans, so we’re definitely thinking BIG with this one and know that our goal is quite lofty. But we’ve seen others reach this goal with quite less frankly, and feel that we could too, but we need to get the ball rolling. That’s where this giveaway comes into play.
The way that this works is that for every 5,000 fans from 21,000 on, we’ll post a status update for people to comment on with their choice of gift and then from out of those comments we will select the winner so that everything is transparent.
The only conditions for this giveaway are that you must be in the U.S. to receive a prize and that you must be willing to have us publish your name if you win to our Facebook page. That’s it! 🙂
If we were to achieve our goal of getting 1,000,000 fans, that means that we would be doing this close to 200 times. So that’s 200 chances for you to walk away possibly with a prize if we reached our goal.
Like, we said before, there is no shame in our game. We’re not afraid to offer incentives to help further strengthen The Urban Twist’s brand and to help bring steady traffic to our site.
