The Bengals faced off against the Dolphins for Thursday night football and proved to be too much for them. Cincinnati took the win Thursday night with a 22-7 win over Miami.
Miami started the game fairly strong early with a 74-yard pass touchdown to Kenny Stills in the first quarter. They took the lead early over the Bengals field goal. Bengals came back late first quarter with a touchdown pass to AJ Green.
It was all downhill for the Dolphins as the Bengals kept the chains moving throughout the night. While the Dolphins failed to get into the end zone for the remainder of the game, the Bengals rarely saw it as well.
Only scoring for one actual touchdown, the biggest points influence for Cincinnati was the boot of Mike Nugent. Nugent kicked five field goals for 15 total points (not including his kick for the one point conversion).
Nugent’s biggest kick of the night was his final kick of the night. He booted the football for a 47-yard field goal in the 4th quarter of the game, putting the seal on their 22-7 win.
Cincinnati lead the stats this game with almost 300 passing yards, lead by Andy Dalton. Jeremy Hill leads the team in rushing with 77 yards and AJ Green led with 173 receiving yards and the team’s only touchdown.
Overview
Overall, both teams have a lot to work on as the rest of the season unfolds, both offensively and defensively.
Miamis inability to pass, or run the ball is going to be the demise of the Dolphins unless changes are made.
As for the Bengals, they made off with the win this week, but the way they got it will not always work. They have to work on getting those first downs and getting the ball into the end zone.
Put them against a team with a stronger offense, they can’t rely on dominating the scoreboard three points at a time. Unless they can put more TD’s on the board, they are going to face a lot of issues.
