Ex-NFL star Aaron Hernandez’s death has definitely led to more questions than answers up to this point, with some even labeling his death as being some type of conspiracy and cover up. But now there are more details coming out that maybe in fact Hernandez did take his own life although he seemed to be in high spirits days leading up to him apparently hanging himself.
The medical examiner has officially confirmed that Aaron’s death was a suicide by hanging. And not just that, but there reportedly were also three handwritten notes recovered from his cell.
The Worcester District Attorney’s Office issued the following statement:
“Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Henry N. Nields performed an autopsy on Mr. Hernandez on Wednesday and concluded today that the manner of death was suicide and the cause asphyxia by hanging.”
We also hear that investigators found “cardboard jammed into the door tracks of his single-inmate cell to impede entry into the cell.”
Additionally, “There were no signs of a struggle, and investigators determined that Mr. Hernandez was alone at the time of the hanging.”
As far as the handwritten notes, they were reportedly found next to a bible in his cell. One was addressed to to his daughter, one to his fiancée, and one to the general public.
Moving forward, as his family has requested, his brain will be released to Boston University’s CTE Center for research.
