A Florida man who surrendered last week after allegedly holding a number of customers and employees hostage at Green Planet Smoke Shop in Tampa, is actually a Muslim convert who had just murdered two roommates he used to identify along with as neo-Nazis.
Devon Arthurs, 18, a former Neo-Nazi Who Converted to Islam allegedly lost it and killed the two Neo-Nazi Roommates after an alleged misunderstanding whereby the Florida Man claimed the roommates had disrespected his newly found faith.
After his arrest he allegedly led authorities back to his Tampa Palms apartment on Friday, May 19, where they discovered the bodies of Jeremy Himmelman and Andrew Oneschuk aged 22 and 18 years respectively.
Arthurs explained that the slain victims were his close friends who shared a common neo-Nazi belief together in the past before he converted to Islam. On searching the apartment Investigators found that Arthurs was in possession of bomb making material within his living quarters.
Further investigation led to the arrest of another Arthurs’ friend by the name Brandon Russell in the Florida Keys for his alleged connection to the explosives. Reports suggested that Brandon was not around when the murder of Himmelman and Oneschuk happened however when he returned from the Army National Guard training discovered the bodies and made a run for it.
After interrogation Arthurs reportedly told authorities that his friend Russell had been planning terror attacks. Russell was said to have a photo of domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh in his bedroom and is believed to be a sworn member of the neo-Nazi group, Atom Waffen.
The 18 year old will be charged with two counts of murder of Oneschuk and Himmelman killings, two counts of aggravated assault and three counts of armed kidnapping for his stint at Green Planet Smoke Shop in Tampa.
Arthurs’ friend Russel fate is yet to be decided.
