David Duke, the infamous avowed white nationalist and former head of the Ku Klux Klan, is clearly a big fan of what President Trump is doing.
In response to a press conference in which Trump compared Confederate general Robert E. Lee to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, Duke praised the president for “tell[ing] the truth” about what went down during the events in Charlottesville on Saturday.
“Thank you President Trump for your honesty & courage to tell the truth about #Charlottesville & condemn the leftist terrorists in BLM/Antifa,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
Also giving high praise was white supremacist figurehead, Richard Spencer. “Trump’s statement was fair and down to earth. #Charlottesville could have been peaceful, if police did its job,” he tweeted Tuesday evening.
